Commercial Real Estate Council
In the mid 1980’s, a small group of Commercial Brokers in the Hartford area formed a commercial organization that would foster professional development in their industry. This group continued to prosper and became known as the Commercial Real Estate Council of the Greater Hartford Association of REALTORS®.
The main objective of the Council is to represent the interest of the commercial members and to increase professionalism. Therefore, our membership concentration is focused on education and public awareness of legislation and events concerning the commercial marketplace in Connecticut. The Commercial Real Estate Council sponsors courses that are geared for commercial real estate agents. In addition, the Council has also created legal documents and contracts geared specifically towards the commercial transaction.

Professional Recognition
The Annual Pinnacle Awards, a black tie award ceremony/dinner, recognizes members of the Commercial Real Estate Council for outstanding achievement in the industry. These awards are for excellence in the office, industrial, retail and commercial land markets.

Information Exchange
Email has become a very important part of everyday business life. However, utilizing email for the marketing or search of properties is limited by your ability to keep up with everyone’s email addresses (as well as having all of them!).
As an answer to this problem, the Commercial Real Estate Council members have the ability to email every Commercial Council member with one click of a button through the GHAR Commercial List Serv system. This system has been designed to help agents find and market property more efficiently, and therefore, make your job easier.
To submit a posting to the List Serv:
- Send it to GHARCommercial@InternetCrusade.com. Save this address in your email address book for future use.
- If you are searching for a property, please type NEED (all letters capitalized) in the email’s subject line.
Example: NEED: 25,000 SF Ofc/Warehouse, Hartford.
- If you would like to announce an available listing, please type HAVE (all letters capitalized) in the email’s subject line.
Example: HAVE: 10,000 SF Office, Hartford, $16 SF.
- Do not send attachments with your posting. Additional information can be sent to those agents who respond directly to you.
- Your email is not immediately sent to the Commercial Council List Serv—it may take a couple of hours.
To reply directly to a posting:
Hit your reply button (or a similar feature in your email software). This will send your email directly to the agent who posted the message.
