GHAR Foundation

About the GHAR Foundation

The Foundation was established at the request of the membership – the idea for the Foundation came from the strategic planning session in 2011 – members wanted a 501(c)(3) corporation that could accept tax deductible contributions in order to set up charitable donations to individual GHAR fundraisers.

The Foundation formalizes the charitable efforts of the Association – in the past, GHAR has given tens of thousands of dollars to numerous charity organizations and the Foundation is the natural progression of that tradition.

The Foundation is independent of GHAR. The Greater Hartford Association of REALTORS® Foundation, Inc. was established in February 2011 as a separate entity, with a separate Board of Trustees that is comprised of elected members of GHAR leadership.

GHAR Bridge Committee Scholarship

In an effort to ease the financial burden of a new REALTOR® member just starting in the business, the GHAR Bridge Committee has recently created the GHAR Bridge Committee Scholarship. Scholarships are based on a one-time reimbursement of REALTOR® fees paid (exclusive of licensing) and will be awarded to a newly licensed agent within 6 months to 2 years of application. To be considered for a Bridge Committee Scholarship, submit the following information and documentation when applying.
