Officer and Director Eligibility Requirements

The following eligibility requirements are set forth in Bylaws Article XI-Officer and Directors:

 Officer:

To be eligible for nomination and election as an Officer, a candidate must be a REALTOR® Member in good standing and must have served as a Director of a REALTOR® association for at least one term of office.  Officers shall not serve more than two consecutive terms in the same position.  After serving two consecutive terms, to remain on the Board of Directors, the Officer must be elected to a higher office.  To be eligible to be elected to the same office after serving two consecutive terms, an individual must not serve as either an Officer or Director for at least two consecutive years.

 Director:

To be eligible for nomination and election as a Director, a candidate must be a REALTOR® Member in good standing and must have served as a member of a REALTOR® association committee for at least two (2) years.  A generally elected Director shall not serve more than two (2) consecutive terms.  After serving two consecutive terms as a generally elected director, to remain on the Board of Directors, an individual must be elected to be an officer.  To be eligible for a third term, a generally elected Director, who is not elected to be an Officer, must go off of the Board of Directors for one year.

Director Job Description:Serve as a member of the Board of Directors whose responsibility is to guide  the Association toward its goals in both policy and programs.

            Responsibilities:

    1. Serve as a voting member of the Board of Directors.
    2. Perform duties assigned by the President.
    3. Attend appropriate meetings and functions as a representative of the Board of Directors.
