Orientation Program

Orientation Program

The GHAR Orientation program enables you to complete your application requirements, acquaint yourself with the Association, its programs, products and services, get a sense of the return on your membership investment and calls attention to your privileges and obligations.

The GHAR Orientation program is available in-person or online.

To register for the in-person orientation program, please see our Events Calendar for available dates.

To register for the online orientation program, please visit NAR’s website. The cost is $20 and a certificate of completion will be sent to you directly from NAR once you complete your Orientation requirement.

The Code of Ethics portion must be taken online at NAR’s website.

REALTORS®

Applicants have six months in which to complete the required Orientation program. If the agent does not attend the Orientation program within the required six month period, they will have to reapply for membership and submit another application fee. Upon completion of the Orientation program, the agent's application will be forwarded to the Board of Directors.

Designated REALTORS®

Any real estate agents licensed in Connecticut and affiliated with the broker applying for membership must also become a REALTOR® member and registered MLS user.  Applicants have six months in which to complete the required Orientation program. If the broker does not attend the Orientation program within the required six month period, GHAR and MLS services will be terminated for the entire office, including any agents affiliated with that broker.

Upon completion of the Orientation Program, the broker's application will be forwarded to the Board of Directors. Until the application is approved, the broker will be listed as an applicant and they will be unable to receive any REALTOR® member benefits.
