Advocacy
"RPAC works hard to not only help elect candidates that support our industry but educate current legislators about issues important to our profession. They are constantly working to keep onerous regulations and/or laws from being passed that would harm our industry and make it harder to do our job. RPAC's mission is to support the real estate industry so that we as individual brokers and agents can be as successful as possible."
- Rob Levine, past GHAR Chair of Government Affairs
Political Advocacy
As America's largest professional trade association, the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® actively protects the interests of its over 1 million members daily.
From its building located steps away from the United States Capitol, NAR advocates for federal policy initiatives that strengthen the ability of Americans to own, buy and sell real property.
Advocacy Fund
The Advocacy Fund addresses issues, usually through the media, to promote REALTOR® positions to the general public and thus influence the decision-makers at the local, state and federal level.
Contributions to this fund may include corporate and non-member donations. It will be split 70% to the CTR Advocacy Fund and 30% to the NAR Political Advocacy Fund (PAF) and used for state issues and other state and federal political purposes. These funds may be used to support candidates at the federal level. Donations to the Advocacy Fund are not tax deductible.

RPAC
Since 1969, the REALTORS® Political Action Committee(link is external) (RPAC) has promoted the election of pro-REALTOR® candidates across the United States. The purpose of RPAC is clear: voluntary contributions made by REALTORS® are used to help elect candidates who understand and support their interests. These are not members’ dues; this is money given freely by REALTORS® in recognition of the importance of the political process. The REALTORS® Political Action Committee and other political fundraising are the keys to protecting and promoting the real estate industry.

Connecticut REALTORS® Public Policy Statement
Views held by Connecticut REALTORS® on important real estate issues affecting our state. If you are a public official or candidate, it provides information that can be helpful as you formulate your own positions. If you are a REALTOR®, it will help guide you in evaluating where the candidates stand on topics important to our business.
Organized in 1920, the Connecticut Association of REALTORS®, Inc. (d/b/a “Connecticut REALTORS®” or “CTR”) was formed to protect the rights of property ownership, to elevate the standards of real estate practice and to disseminate real estate information. CTR's public advocacy role serves a dual purpose: 1) to protect the interests of real estate owners and prospective homebuyers at the State Capitol and in Washington, DC; and 2) to improve the business climate for its nearly 15,600 members.
