Diversity, equity and inclusion shall guide how we cultivate our leaders, render our decisions and guide our industry. We believe DEI drives the best decisions to build and maintain a culture where differences are valued.
Our Path to Ensure Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
In 2020, GHAR partnered with the Calling All Allies Project and Dr. Brandi Baldwin to facilitate the new GHAR initiative to guide our association's path to ensure diversity, equity and inclusion. An audit was conducted to develop short and long-term strategies to ensure inclusivity and understanding in order to create a supportive environment for both our staff and members. GHAR is determined to ensure the growth and health of the organization continue on a positive and inclusive trajectory. We are looking inward to fortify our policies, practices, and procedures to be sure they are rooted in equity. Other notable steps that we have taken are:
- The formation of the Bridge committee in 2014 to promote diverse leadership;
- The formation of the newly approved Equity committee;
- Mandatory DEI training for all leadership, directors, officers and staff;
- Revision of any association policies that may promote discriminatory practices and
- Supporting laws that promote inclusivity in our business.
GHAR wants to hear from our members as we navigate our new initiatives. If you have any feedback, you may leave it anonymously through this form.
