License Renewal
Real Estate Licensing Requirements
The real estate license must be renewed annually through the Department of Consumer Protection (DCP). More information. Continuing Education (CE) is due on the even-numbered renewal years and must be completed prior to renewing your license in all even-numbered years. GHAR members can view your continuing education history (only classes taken through GHAR) by logging into GHAR's Member Portal.
Hours Required for Continuing Education
12 credit hours per two-year cycle, including:
- One three-hour mandatory course approved by the Commission concerning current real estate and fair housing legislation, licensing laws and regulations; and
- Nine hours of real estate elective courses.
- No Continuing Education is due at the first renewal after being licensed.
Alternatively, licensees may opt to pass the 40-question Connecticut CE Examination during the CE cycle. Contact PSI Examination Services (the testing company) directly: 1-800-733-9267 or go to www.psiexams.com. NOTE: When calling PSI to schedule, be sure to specify that you want the "40 Question" exam to renew your CT license.
