Board of Directors

The GHAR Board of Directors is responsible for the direction of the organization. The board governs, develops policy and sets a course using the Strategic Plan as a guide. The GHAR mission statement frames all discussions.

DIRECTOR ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

To be eligible for nomination and election as a Director, a candidate must be a primary REALTOR® member in good standing with GHAR, must have served as a member of a REALTOR^® association committee for at least two (2) years, and must complete NAR’s Fairhaven (a fair housing simulation). A generally elected Director shall not serve more than two (2) consecutive 2- year terms. After serving two consecutive terms as a generally elected director, to remain on the Board of Directors, an individual must be elected to be an officer. To be eligible for a third term, a generally elected Director, who is not elected to be an Officer, must go off of the Board of Directors for one year. Board elections are held annually in October. • Fiduciary

Expectations:
• Attend and be prepared to actively participate in at least 8 of the 10 monthly board meetings. Currently the board meetings are scheduled for the third Thursday of each month from 9:15am to 11:15am (date and time subject to change).
• Continue to serve on at least one GHAR committee.
• Attend and actively participate in association events.
• Invest annually, the minimum suggested advocacy investment (currently $25).
• Attend two annual DEI trainings provided by the Association.
• Sign and abide by the Volunteer Code of Conduct.
